Last semester Ms. T, Prof. Mele and I were brainstorming on creating a new website for the Yes Center. We began figuring out the logistics but decided to focus on the upcoming Chester Womens Change Makers event happening in March instead. As a result, much of my work has been centered on ensuring the success of this event.
To streamline preparations, I met with Prof. Mele to discuss what Ms. T and I needed to coordinate leading up to the event. This allowed me to clarify my role and ensure that I could effectively communicate updates and action items back to Ms. T. Several days later, in my meeting with Ms. T, we covered several critical aspects of the event, including securing videographers to document the occasion, setting up a pop-up shop to engage attendees, finalizing details for her personal Change Makers page, and designing an event program to outline key points of the night.
A major accomplishment has been strengthening my ability to take initiative and adapt to evolving project needs. I have told Ms. T that I am there to support her in any way she needs to ensure the success of the evening. This internship has also been an opportunity for personal and professional growth, particularly in communication and project management. Overall, I am very excited for the Chester Womens Change Makers event and for everything else to come!
