Questions- Little Ice Age
Hi everyone,
I’m taking the Lieberman/Gordon out – here’s the modified question centered around the four readings. How does the case of the Little Ice Age – as described by Behringer and Degroot – make it possible to illustrate, concretize and otherwise bring to life either Tapiador/Navarro’s argument about coupling human-physical dynamics, Mauelschagen’s proposal for a “sociosphere”, or any of the perspectives we explored last week about the purpose of climate history? And what is the promise of the Little Ice Age as a tool for communicating climate history? The Little Ice Age is a favorite subject of social media climate history - let’s talk about how and what we would want to change about that. Looking forward to seeing what crystallizes around this specific topic next week.
