Hi Sofia!

I really like how you connect language to colonial legacies, recognizing and pointing out that our relationship to language is not isolated from history. Language mediates so much of our cultural identity and experiences, especially our intergenerational connections. How you discuss communication as being recognized, seen, and cared for is so crucial to unpacking how language ideologies uphold ideas about communication that are so isolated from connection and care, instead seeking to maintain some sort of normative mode of communication that separates language from that crucial aspect of connection and care.
