In this course, students explore the potential for classroom, school, and social change through qualitative research. Through readings and a research project, students learn about and practice key qualitative methods including interviewing, participant observation, document analysis, and data analysis.

- Opportunities for apprenticeships in ongoing educational research projects
- Weekly focal studies conducted by researchers of color working toward racial justice and other forms of social change
- Opportunities to lead seminar-style discussions and activities
- Practice at reviewing literature, evaluating existing research, and collecting and analyzing data
