Yu’s multipolars Clime Studies framework offers a viewpoint for how different climate challenges faced by different regions are interconnected. The Himalayas, Arctic, and rivers of South Asia are all connected by melting glaciers, changing weather patterns, and loss of biodiversity. His approach melds together environmental science, cultural studies, and even socio economic perspectives. This allows actors that can instill change like scientists, activists, and artists with the tools necessary to address both the ecological/ cultural impacts. Activists can focus on large changing effects of the climate such as these glaciers to advocate for justice within the legal complexities in the Third Pole governance. This interaction between storytelling and legal players is necessary for legal action and eventually legal change. As these elements must work together to synchronize policy that reflects the needs of local regions like the himalayas and the Arctic. This challenges us to rethink our original thought process of man vs climate, into more interesting and complex changes in climate where instead of two players, we have multiple melding together for climate change.
