Welcome to Behavioral Neuroscience! This course will introduce students to the study of Brain and Behavior. Understanding the basic mechanisms of how the brain works advances our understanding of both normal human behaviors, such as learning and memory, as well as neurological diseases like addiction, Alzheimer's and affective disorders. Throughout the next few months, we will learn about the foundations of biological psychology; the classic studies that provided critical advances to our knowledge of mind and behavior, and the current research directions that continue this quest.

Below you will find the class syllabus. The course schedule is currently being finalized and will be available shortly. To prepare for our first class on Monday, January 26th, please read through chapter 1 of the textbook, review the syllabus and bring any questions to class. I am looking forward to meeting everyone!
