Bob Dylan's 2015 talk on how his lyrics were inspired by studying earlier songwriters

Dylan's wry, funny, and provocative February 2015 MusiCares Foundation speech contains many astonishing moments, including his thank-you's to Nina Simone, Johnny Cash, and Jimi Hendrix.  But it's most remarkable for his reflections on how his lyrics came about only after thoroughly absorbing the songs and lyrics of his great predecessors in folk, blues, and country music.  The complete transcript of the 30-minute speech is here.  Dylan's never gone into such depth before reflecting on his own development as a poet and song-writer, so this is really fascinating.  from Rolling Stone.
